Hello & welcome to tutorial #27! This one is about the really cool pluck sound from the chorus of Katy Perry's new single "Never Really Over". Variations of this sound are usually heard more in melodic trance or in verses of more melodic edm but I think that Zedd really "perfected" this sound to be as natural sounding as possible while still having enough low & high end frequencies which is really cool! A few important aspects of this sound include the heavy OTT compression & the bitcrushing to make sure that while the cutoff of the pluck isn't fully open you still get a very full bodied sound, and then combined with some volume sidechain you get a great pluck that can accompany vocals & lead synths really well :) P.S - Check out the Virtual Riot Atmospheres tutorial I made if you want to make Atmospheres like the one I used in this video (Link down below). If there's a subject/sound you want me to cover in one of my future tutorials let me know in the comments below ;) Enjoy! ----------- Virtual Riot Atmospheres Tutorial: https://youtu.be/A2Ppcies4lQ My Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/sharpendmoosic Contact me at: sharpendmoosic@gmail.com ----------- Background Link: https://flic.kr/p/28Ku2re Taken by Hannes Flo, modified by Sharpend.
