This one’s just me celebrating a year of my after the party EP by flipping “lonely” into a bossa nova version. Same words, same headspace—“wake up, no more rules,” stuck inside my head, trying to understand how I ended up here—just dressed in a different feel. It’s still that loop of playing pretend, getting left behind, and watching the “same old show” while somebody “still don’t know what you’ve done.” Lyrically it’s pretty blunt: I’m lonely, I don’t feel anything anymore, and I don’t know me anymore. There’s that push-pull between wanting to get out of bed and choosing to sink into my phone instead, because it’s easier when someone’s in my head but never actually beside me. The hook keeps coming back like a thought you can’t mute—“it’s only a feeling, I’m not really bleeding”—but it still lands like damage.
