Welcome to an overview of Harp - my 3rd VFX Script. This script allows you to emulate those crescendo effects commonly heard in a Harp going up or down all the strings very fast, with only 1 note played! The script allows you to control the length of the crescendo in a BPM synced manner, control the crescendo timing curve (logarithmic, linear and exponential) Quantize the notes played in the crescendo, and limit from where on the keyboard the crescendo effect begins. You can get check my github to download my VFX scripts as I release them, with Harp available now! https://github.com/itayelkayam/Sharpends-VFX-Scripts The Harp script concludes the scripts I've made so far, but if an idea comes up I'll make more & update the current ones so feel free to provide suggestions in the comments :) -------------- Stream my music here: https://linktr.ee/sharpend -------Follow Me------- https://linktr.ee/sharpend Contact me: Sharpendmoosic@gmail.com 00:00 Demonstration 01:01 Time Section 02:58 Harp Settings 04:58 Quantize Section 05:26 How to use it 07:29 Outro

About This Video

In this video I’m showcasing my third VFX script, Harp — a hop/harp-like automatic crescendo effect that lets you get those “rip up/down the strings” vibes with only one MIDI note. I start with a super basic Serum patch and a simple pattern, then I route the VFX script and suddenly that single C6 turns into a whole cascade of notes that rushes into the target note. It’s one of those things where the source is nothing to write home about, and then the script makes it feel like an actual musical gesture. I break down the main controls: the time base + time multiplier (BPM-synced) determine how long it takes for the crescendo notes to reach your played note, and the timing curve changes how the spacing between notes behaves (equal timing at zero, then more linear/exponential-style feel above or below). Then in the harp settings I show direction (up/down), velocity multiplier for more dynamic motion, and lower/higher limits so you can avoid super rumbly lows or push into glittery highs. I also talk about CPU: this can be a lot of notes really fast, so release and polyphony matter. Finally, the quantize section lets you pick key/scale (including pentatonics), and I show how I automate parameters like time multiplier and direction to get those colorbase/chip-ish textures and bigger movement without manually writing a million notes.
