Exploring FL Studio 2025's VFX Script plugin - which allowed me to put my Python experience to use for 3 little musical scripts, which I showcase here :) These scripts can help you modify velocity & pitch, randomize velocity, create quantized harmony voices that can be randomized, and emulate a harp crescendo like effect with a single note playing. You can get check my github to download the scripts as I release them, with the first one available now! https://github.com/itayelkayam/Sharpends-VFX-Scripts -------------- Stream my music here: https://linktr.ee/sharpend -------Follow Me------- https://linktr.ee/sharpend Contact me: Sharpendmoosic@gmail.com 00:00 Intro/Demonstration 01:47 Breakdown 02:12 Chords Synth - KeyMod 03:40 Lead Synth - Harmonizer 05:54 Synth - Harp Crescendo 08:23 Drums - KeyMod 10:08 Bass - Unmodified 11:17 Comparison - STEMS 13:50 - Conclusion

About This Video

Ever since FL Studio 2025 dropped, I’ve basically been living inside the new VFX Script plugin. It’s a way to interface Python with FL Studio’s MIDI notes and parameters, and in this video I show what I’ve been up to: three small scripts that make the exact same MIDI feel way more alive. I start by playing a short demo with no scripting, then I switch to the scripted version so you can hear how different it gets when you’re not changing the notes—just how they’re generated and performed. I break it down instrument by instrument. First, I use a “keyboard/velocity” style script to replicate those MIDI keyboard menus: set min/max velocity, transpose, and randomize velocity so chords stop feeling static (especially when velocity is mapped to cutoff). Then I show a harmonizer script that takes a monophonic lead and generates three extra voices, quantized to a scale (pentatonic major here), with options to control harmony velocity and even randomize the harmony choices for constant variation. My favorite is the “harp crescendo” script: you play one note, and it runs through scale tones until it reaches your target note (up or down), which is a super simple way to get interesting sound design through composition. I also use subtle velocity randomization on cymbals for humanization, and I compare stems with/without VFX so the difference is obvious.
