Hey guys, in this self-care motivation vlog I’m doing everything that helps me pour back into myself as a new mom. I start my day the way I truly believe it has to start—spending time with the good Lord. There’s honestly no self-care without spending time with our Creator, because He gives us what we need for the day. And I’m real with you: it’s not always first thing in the morning, but I fit it in whenever I can because every day as a mom looks different. After that I get a little movement in with at-home Pilates (and I even added a hot sculpt workout—trust me, it doesn’t look like much but it was working). I make a light breakfast, treat myself to avocado toast, and I share how I’ve been adding unflavored marine collagen to my peppermint tea because my knees are not giving what they used to give. Then I reset my space because I cannot relax in a mess—cleaning gives me peace of mind and clarity, and I’m doing things like washing my bedding and cleaning the bathroom before my hygiene routine. I take you through my shower + skincare, from my clay mask to exfoliating (if you know, you know) and finishing with oils, body butter, and simple, hydrating skincare—plus we’re talking postpartum hair thinning because what is going on. I end the day with a healthy dinner (sweet potato, salmon, broccoli—jerk salmon for me), and I share how I make self-care happen in between naps without piling on extra chores.
