Day 9 of doing the same exercises I give to my patients. Today’s focus was upper body strength and mobility using one of the simplest tools you can find at home: cans. We started with warm-ups like neck circles, shoulder circles, overhead claps, front claps, trunk rotations, modified elephant walks, forward folding, and trunk extension to loosen the body and prepare for movement. Then we moved into strengthening exercises using cans, including: overhead shoulder press chest press overhead triceps extension bent-over triceps extension In between sets, we added mobility work like ankle circles, hip circles, hip flexor stretch on a chair, glute stretch, and side lunge stretch. We finished with sink push-ups to build functional upper body strength. This routine was designed to improve: arm strength shoulder strength triceps strength posture mobility pushing strength confidence with daily movement These are the same kinds of exercises I use with my patients when I want them to build practical strength that actually helps in real life — lifting, pushing, reaching, and staying independent.
