Day 5 of doing the same exercises I prescribe to my patients. Today’s focus was resistance band strength training mixed with mobility breaks. This routine worked the shoulders, back, chest, arms, core, hips, knees, ankles, and legs. We started with warm-ups like shoulder rotations, neck stretches, hip rotations, knee circles, and ankle circles to prepare the body to move safely. Then we moved into resistance band exercises for the upper body and core, including: ✔ Band lateral pulls for the back ✔ Band chest press ✔ Band chest fly ✔ Triceps pulls ✔ Band trunk rotations ✔ Band shoulder press We also added side lunge squats, back extension stretches, dynamic movement breaks, and lower body mobility so this was not just an arm workout. The goal was to build functional strength. That means strength you can actually use for daily life, like standing better, reaching better, walking with more control, improving posture, and keeping your body active after 50. Resistance bands are one of my favorite tools because they are simple, affordable, and easy to use at home. You do not need a gym to start building strength. You just need consistency. Attendance Check: What daily activity do you wish felt easier again? Carrying groceries? Getting up from a chair? Reaching overhead? Walking longer? Climbing stairs? Tell me in the comments. On the Skills and Wellness channel, my goal is to help you stay consistent with your therapy at home so you can move better, feel stronger, and stay independent longer. Consistency is the key and never give up. #OccupationalTherapy #PhysicalTherapy #ResistanceBands #SeniorFitness #HealthyAging ------------------------------------------------------------------ CONNECT WITH SKILLS AND WELLNESS: Recommended Therapy Items:https://amzn.to/4nzDAn7 Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbgzVvvr0hwKFeLBnczqg7w/join Exercises for Seniors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgIVMCnlGsQ&list=PLvSelbjivxk3BnHT2Je8aSBnkwlucnCkH&pp=gAQB Stroke Exercises: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHii94MWaY4&list=PLvSelbjivxk1HbpmmasBZAQHi2IElTGz2&pp=gAQB Parkinson's Disease Exercises: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUHNNhn0MCI&list=PLvSelbjivxk1COV65rAbOORH9W73n2Vru&pp=gAQBiAQB Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/skillsandwellness/ ================================= About Skills and Wellness Welcome to Skills and Wellness, your personal guide to Occupational Therapy.
