Day 4: The Shoulder Mobility Routine I Give My Patients

Day 4 of doing the same exercises I prescribe to my patients. Today's focus was shoulder mobility. Many people think shoulder pain starts in the shoulder itself. But what I've learned over years of working with patients is that shoulder problems often develop because the neck, upper back, chest, and shoulder joint stop moving the way they're supposed to. That's why today's routine focused on restoring movement. We worked on: ✔ Neck mobility ✔ Shoulder mobility ✔ Upper back mobility ✔ Shoulder external rotation ✔ Shoulder extension ✔ Core stability ✔ Overhead reaching The goal wasn't to build muscle. The goal was to help the shoulder move the way it was designed to move. When shoulder mobility improves, people often notice: • Easier reaching overhead • Less pain getting dressed • Better posture • Less stiffness • Easier reaching behind the back • Better shoulder comfort during daily activities These are the same exercises I use with patients who struggle with shoulder stiffness, limited mobility, and painful reaching.
