In this video I’m reviewing the Royal Kludge C96 Magnetic Keyboard, a 96% wired-only board built for speed, control, and responsiveness. I go through the unboxing, layout, and build, then focus on what actually matters for competitive play: Hall Effect magnetic switches, Rapid Trigger behavior, adjustable actuation all the way down to 0.01mm, and the 8,000Hz polling rate. I also cover the dedicated volume wheel/mute button, the indicator lights (including Windows lock and Mac mode), the Cherry profile PBT keycaps, and why this layout is a nice balance of full numpad + saved desk space. I explain Hall Effect in real-world terms: the keyboard constantly measures key travel instead of relying on metal contacts, so you can tune actuation per key and get instant resets. In my testing (especially in Arc Raiders), the C96 tracks finger movement incredibly closely—direction changes feel faster, stops and strafes feel cleaner, and movement becomes more predictable because there’s no fixed reset point. I also do a sound check and talk about the triple-layer dampening that keeps it muted and controlled. My verdict: if you want high-performance magnetic keyboard features without jumping to the most expensive options, this one is absolutely worth buying.
