About This Video

In this video I unbox, set up, and go through the best features of the Mechlands Blade75—a 75% wireless aluminum mechanical keyboard that’s gasket mounted, hot-swappable, and has south-facing (self-facing) RGB. I break down what you actually get in the box (cable, keycap puller, extra switches, quick start guide), then jump into the real stuff: build quality, layout (81 keys + rotary knob), and the overall minimalist design. I’m using the blue version here, and I’ll say it right now—those pastel vibes look super clean for lighter, airy setups. I also cover the keycaps (double-shot PBT), the Mechlands Verdant linear switches (42g), and how the gasket mount plus internal padding gives it that soft, cushion-like typing feel. The sound is that “thock” a lot of people want, but it’s also louder than some of my other boards—so keep that in mind if you’re in a quiet house. I test the RGB (bright and consistent even without shine-through caps), walk through the function combos, and show what you can do in the Mechlands software: remaps, macros, power saving, RGB creation, sharing profiles, and firmware updates. At around $89 (or less with discounts), I think it’s a solid buy if you want a clean-looking board with good comfort and modding potential. My main nitpicks are the lack of adjustable feet and battery life—especially if you’re running heavy RGB—so for long sessions, I still think wired is the ultimate way to go.
