About This Video

In this video, I take a first look at the brand-new 2022 update to the Redragon Pollux line: the K628 Pro. I unbox it, set it up, and walk you through what makes this Pro version built different—like the 78-key 75% layout, a unique red/black/white color scheme, RGB, true hot-swap support, and the fact that you can run it wired or wireless (Bluetooth or 2.4GHz with the nano receiver). I also show what you get in the box, including the angled USB-C cable with a USB-A adapter, a keycap/switch puller, and even extra switches. I dig into the keycaps and the Redragon optimum red switches, and this is one of my favorite upgrades: the keycaps feel more premium with a grippy texture, and the font looks cleaner than older models. I do a sound test, break down the 20 RGB effects, and explain the function-layer shortcuts you’ll use on a 75% board (F-keys, navigation, media, and even switching between three Bluetooth devices). Then I compare it directly to the original K628, and for me the Pro is a noticeable upgrade in feel, look, and sound. At around $60, I think it’s a great compact gaming keyboard that’s also ready to be modded to your heart’s content.
