One of the best items that benefits your eyes for any desk setup is a monitor light bar, and in this video I’m taking a look at the widely popular BenQ ScreenBar Halo. I do a quick unboxing, show you what’s included (including the AAA batteries for the remote), and then I set it up on my monitor to see how it fits on both flat and curved displays. I also go over the build quality because this thing genuinely feels premium—mostly aluminum alloy with a clean metallic finish—and it has that unique dual-light design with a front bar plus a backlight built into the counterweight. After setup, I walk through the features that make the Halo the leader in this space, especially the 2.4GHz wireless controller. The remote is super intuitive, lights up when your hand hovers over it, and gives you quick control over brightness, color temperature, auto-dimming to 500 lux, and switching between front light, back light, or both. I also talk about the webcam situation—BenQ’s separate webcam accessory is a great idea, but I do wish it was included at this price. Finally, I answer the big question: is it worth $179? In my opinion, it depends on your budget and expectations, but the quality, instant responsiveness, dual lights, and overall experience are a major step above cheaper competitors.
