Scenic Drive from the Grand Canyon to Glen Canyon | Northern Arizona Hwy 64 and US Hwy 89/89A

This video captures a scenic drive from the Grand Canyon to Glen Canyon in northern Arizona, following Arizona Highway 64 eastward from the South Rim and connecting to U.S. Highway 89 and U.S. Highway 89A. The route travels across broad sections of the Colorado Plateau, passing through open high-desert terrain shaped by layered sedimentary rocks and long volcanic histories. Along Hwy 64, the drive features views of the Little Colorado River Gorge and the expansive Painted Desert. Continuing north on US 89, the landscape transitions to views of the Echo Cliffs, Navajo Mountain, and distant mesas. The stretch of US 89A toward Glen Canyon brings travelers along the base of the Vermilion Cliffs and across open desert basins leading toward Marble Canyon and the Colorado River. In spring, temperatures are generally mild, shrubs show early seasonal green, and visibility across the desert remains clear, highlighting the geological structure of northern Arizona.
