Hiking to Mount Lassen Peak | Summit Ascent Through Volcanic Terrain | 4K HDR

This video documents the ascent section of the Lassen Peak Trail in Lassen Volcanic National Park. The route begins at the Lassen Peak Trailhead at approximately 2,591 m (8,500 ft) above sea level and climbs to the summit of Lassen Peak at about 3,187 m (10,457 ft). The ascent covers approximately 4.0 km (2.5 miles) one way, with around 630 m (2,067 ft) of elevation gain. The trail follows a steady climb across exposed volcanic terrain, including long switchbacks, rocky slopes, and high-elevation sections above the tree line. As elevation increases, the landscape transitions from sparse subalpine vegetation to open volcanic rock, ash fields, and broad summit views overlooking surrounding peaks, lakes, and geothermal terrain within the park. The final approach ascends over loose volcanic material before reaching the summit plateau. Filmed in real time in 4K HDR with natural ambient hiking sounds, the video presents an objective visual record of trail conditions, terrain, elevation gain, and the gradual ascent to the summit of Lassen Peak.
