Hiking California's Redwood Backcountry (Part 2) | Ridge Traverse & Descent via McArthur Creek

This video documents the second half of a long backcountry hike in Redwood National and State Parks, continuing from the ridge section and returning toward the trailhead near Orick, California. This segment includes the highest point of the route (approximately 415 m / 1,360 ft), followed by a gradual transition into descent. The trail traverses elevated ridge terrain with intermittent viewpoints before dropping back through dense forest via sections associated with the McArthur Creek route. Terrain includes narrow forest paths, muddy or brushy sections, and shaded redwood corridors. As elevation decreases, the environment shifts back into lower forest and creekside terrain, completing the loop. Filmed in real time in 4K HDR, this is a silent hiking video with natural forest sounds only, capturing the descent phase and changing terrain conditions.
