Hiking the Confluence Overlook Trail (Inbound Return) | Canyonlands Needles District | Full POV

This video documents the inbound return section of a full point-of-view (POV) hike along the Confluence Overlook Trail in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park, covering the hike back from the Confluence Overlook to the trailhead. The return follows the same mesa-top route, totaling approximately 17.8 km (11 miles) for the complete out-and-back hike, with a cumulative elevation gain of about 530 meters (1,740 feet). The trail remains entirely above the river corridors, traversing exposed slickrock, sandy desert paths, shallow drainages, and open plateau terrain typical of the Colorado Plateau. The return hike provides a reverse perspective of the landscape, with changing light, views back across the canyon system, and a continued emphasis on the scale and geological structure of the region. This video focuses on trail conditions, terrain, and environmental continuity during the inbound leg of the hike.
