Grand Canyon South Rim Trail Run from the Visitor Center to Bright Angel Trailhead

A run along the South Rim Trail of Grand Canyon National Park, beginning at the Visitor Center and following the rim west to the Bright Angel Trailhead before returning along the same route. The South Rim Trail stays entirely above the canyon rim on a mostly paved and well-maintained path that parallels the canyon edge, offering frequent overlooks into the inner gorge. The route passes through open pinyon–juniper woodland and developed rim areas, with consistent views of layered rock formations carved by the Colorado River. The terrain is largely level with gentle elevation changes typical of the South Rim, making it a common corridor for both recreational runners and walkers while providing uninterrupted exposure to the canyon landscape.
