In this video I show you something I honestly didn’t expect to say in 2026: there’s a guitar that can give you a finished, usable recorded sound with literally nothing else in the chain. No amp, no effects, no preamps, no virtual amps, no EQ, no plugins, and no IRs. What you hear at the start is the Enya Inspire’s direct signal recorded straight into an interface—dry—and it still sounds like “a record,” not like a sad DI that needs rescuing. I also do some comparison shopping to put the value into perspective. I build a typical beginner recording/guitar rig (Squier Sonic Strat, a popular 25-watt modeling amp, a small Focusrite interface, an SM57, and Sony MDR-7506 headphones) and it lands around the same money as the Inspire. And even then, that rig still doesn’t do what this guitar does right out of the box. I’m not saying the Inspire is for everybody—but for what it offers at the price, and with where the industry is heading, it’s a really strong value and a genuinely fun, practical twist on the whole “guitar with a speaker” idea that’s historically been… not great.
