In this very first #Knit50Squares episode for 2026, I’m kicking off “Learn to Knit in 50 Squares” by Anna Pantelous and inviting you to come along with me week by week. The whole point is to learn new processes (that’s still my big goal for the year), and I love that this book lets us tackle techniques in bite-sized squares instead of feeling like we have to conquer a whole sweater right out of the gate. If you’re brand new to knitting, this is a super friendly way to build skills—one square at a time. And if you’re more like me—a fearful knitter who regularly thinks, “Oh, I can’t do that”—this is your sign to join in anyway. We’re going to work through these wonderful squares together, keep it cozy, and give ourselves permission to learn as we go.
