In this week’s Knit 50 Squares, I’m working on Square 03: “The Purly One” from Learn to Knit in 50 Squares by Anna Pantelous. I’m coming at this as a “fearful knitter” (that’s me most days), so this square is all about getting comfy with purling and letting myself learn the technique without spiraling into the “oh, I can’t do that” mindset. I talk through what I’m focusing on as I stitch, what I’m watching for in my tension, and how I’m approaching the square so it feels doable instead of intimidating. This series is meant to be a cozy weekly stitch-along where we learn new processes together—whether you’re a brand new knitter or you’ve been knitting forever but still have those techniques that make you nervous. My big takeaway in this video is that repetition is your friend: a simple square can teach you a lot when you slow down and pay attention.
