About This Video

In this first #Knit50Squares video, I’m kicking off Square 01: “The Slippy One” from Learn to Knit in 50 Squares by Anna Pantelous. The whole point of this series is to show up weekly and actually “learn to knit” in real time—especially if you’re brand new, or if you’re like me: a fearful knitter who regularly looks at a technique and thinks, “oh, I can’t do that.” This square is all about getting comfortable with the feel of your stitches and how your yarn behaves on the needles—because sometimes it really is slippy, and that can throw you off if you’re not expecting it. As we work through these squares together, my goal is to build skills one technique at a time, without the pressure of making a perfect finished object right away. I’m treating this as a cozy, stitch-along progress chat where we learn new processes on purpose, keep our WIPs moving, and celebrate the little wins. If you want to join in every week, grab the book, pick your yarn, and come stitch with me—one square at a time.
