If you’re in the market for a budget light to make your content look a bit more professional (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram… whatever), this video is me unboxing and properly testing the Neewer NL-116AI soft panel light. I go through what you get in the box (USB-C cable, a little desktop tripod, and the mounting/angle bracket), then I power it up and show how the controls work. You’ve got brightness in 1% steps from 1–100%, and you can also dial the colour temperature from warm white to bright white with really fine control, all shown on the LCD on the back. The big thing for me is the diffusion. On my old cheap Temu light I can literally see the individual LEDs and it throws harsher shadows, but this Neewer panel looks smooth with no bright LED spots. I also compare it to my current setup, then move over to my desk to see what it does for my webcam. With no light I’m grainy and noisy, but once the NL-116AI is on (even around 34–50%) the camera adjusts, I’m clearer, and you can even see more definition in the window behind me. And yes—this is the game changer: it stays on while charging. That means you’re not relying on the battery, and at a claimed 10W max you can even run it from a power bank. Honestly, I can’t really fault it, and I’m seriously considering buying a second one for a small channel setup like mine.
