About This Video

Turbo X is back, and in this video I put the new Ebonite Turbo X through a full house-shot test to see if that classic mid-lane read still holds up in 2025. I’m Jayson—pro shop owner up here in Alaska—and I ran it the same way I do my other reviews: up 5, 10, 15, and 20 so you can see where it wants to play and where it fits in a real tournament arsenal. I go over the core/cover details (10.7 GB solid with HK22, .040 diff, and the RG numbers) and then it’s full-speed, throw-by-throw so you can judge the motion for yourself. What surprised me most is how smooth and blended this ball is off the friction. Ebonite markets it more “skid/flip,” but on my fresh house shot with a little extra volume, it wasn’t that check-and-go shape I expected—it retained the right amount of energy and stayed controllable. When I got too far left and kept it in the oil too long, it definitely struggled to make the corner, which tells me it needs friction to be its best. For me, it’s a benchmark-style look that’s cleaner through the fronts, and I see it living in that game 2/3/4 window as a really solid complement to my Hammerhead.
