In this video, Jayson Robarge reviews the Hammer Tour V1, the latest evolution of the Black Widow line — built for bowlers who love the Widow shape but need a smoother, more controllable option. The Tour V1 features a modified Widow core (2.48 RG / .037 Diff) and HK22 Aggression Hybrid coverstock, offering the perfect ball-down motion from stronger asymmetrics like the Maximum Effect or Paragon Shadow. A big thanks to Center Bowl for letting us film our Ball Reviews! Here’s what you’ll learn: ✅ Why the Tour V1 fits perfectly between big asym balls and smooth symmetrics ✅ How the smaller core & HK22 hybrid cover creates a controllable backend motion ✅ Layout breakdown (45 × 5¼ × 45) and ball comparison with Maximum Effect ✅ Best lane conditions and volume ranges for this ball ✅ Why it’s a must-have for medium-volume league or tournament play 📌 Timestamps: 0:00 – Intro & Overview 0:11 – Core & Coverstock Details 0:32 – Test Pattern (Souped-Up House) 1:02 – Ball Motion Goals (Ball Down Concept) 2:18 – Asym vs Sym Explanation 3:05 – Layout Discussion (45 × 5¼ × 45) 4:16 – Ball Motion Observations 6:02 – Friction Response & Continuation 8:10 – Comparison with Maximum Effect 9:47 – Volume & Response Range 11:29 – Final Review & Outro 👉 Are you a Widow fan? About This Video

In this video I’m breaking down the brand new Hammer Tour V1, which is basically the next step in the Black Widow line but built to be smoother and more controllable. It’s the first “tour” style release using the Widow core idea, but they weakened it by taking the flip block/puck out and dropping the differential into that .03 range. I tested it on my souped-up house shot at Center Bowl, starting up 5 and then migrating left across the lane like I always do to find where the ball is happy—and where it finally hits that out-of-bounds. The big goal for me was simple: I wanted a true ball-down option from my bigger asymmetrics (like my Maximum Effect) while keeping that familiar Widow shape. With the HK22 Aggression Hybrid cover, the Tour V1 got down the lane cleaner and stored more energy than the big stuff, which helped it continue when I opened my angles. The tradeoff is it needs some friction—on the fresh with too much oil it can get a little too long and not burn enough energy. Overall, I’d call the Tour V1 a medium-oil piece with a medium-to-slower response time. If you want a predictable, smooth, continuous asymmetric that lets you stay in the same zone and just “ball down,” this one can be money on a lot of house shots and medium-volume tournament conditions.
