About This Video

In this tournament vlog, I take you with me to the 2025 Mid-Summer Divisional Classic at Center Bowl here in Alaska. We honestly don’t get many tournaments up here, so it was awesome to see new ownership bringing events back—and even better that they let us film the whole thing. I break down the format (four games to qualify, top four straight into the stepladder, then the rest bowl two more for the 5/6 spots), then we roll through practice and every game with no fluff. On the lanes, it was all about managing transition and staying ahead of the friction. You’ll see me pay attention to who I’m following (yeah… two-handed plastic can change what you see), make moves, and swap equipment when the reaction starts getting weird—like controlling the pocket but not going through it the right way. I talk through why I switched from the Hammerhead to the Turbo X when I felt the ball was starting to hook early, and what I was seeing when it either held too long or jumped off the spot. I ended up qualifying #1 and grinding my way into the final, but I fell just short for second. I explain exactly what I think cost me the win—playing a touch too far right and getting into too much friction, burning up, and leaving that 10 when I needed the ball to go through the pins.
