About This Video

In this video I review the Bubble Gum Vibe—Hammer’s 19th Vibe in the US—and I put it through its paces on a fresh, higher-volume house shot at Center Bowl while tracking everything with Specto™. It’s the HK22CT Max Pearl cover with the Vibe core, and I went in expecting that classic Vibe look: easy length with a quicker response when it finds friction. I’m not a “colors matter” guy (if it strikes and makes me money, I’m happy), but I’ll admit the bubble gum look with that yellow pop is pretty sweet. On lane, the big takeaway is this: it’s a lower-to-medium volume ball with a quicker response time, but it’s not the quickest thing I’ve ever seen. When I was too far right, it saw friction early and wanted to change direction fast—definitely not a “blendy” piece when you’re in the dry too soon. When I moved into more oil (third arrow range), it got down lane cleaner and then really showed that responsive, “checks when it sees friction” motion. For my game in Alaska (high friction a lot of the time), it’s most comfortable second-to-third or third-to-fourth arrow, and it fits as a transition piece before I jump to my original Anger Pearl as the true burn ball.
