About This Video

In this video I put the new Radical Power Hitter through a full on-lane test and answer the real question: is it a 300-cranking monster, or an overhyped brick? The Power Hitter is the third ball in the Hitter line (Radical’s top-shelf big asyms), and I’ll be honest—the original Hitter is one of my all-time favorites with some huge memories attached to it. So I came into this one hoping for a cleaner look than the OG Hitter, but still with that strong, readable motion. I break down the specs (2.48 RG range depending on weight, 0.053 diff, 0.015 intermediate diff) and then I throw it up 5, 10, 15, and 20 so you can see what it does across the lane on a fresh high-volume house shot. What stood out is how much this ball likes to slow down once it starts reading the lane—then the core flips over and it’s quick when it transitions. For me, it’s a higher-volume, left-to-right shape ball that’s pretty responsive down lane, and it’s honestly a little “allergic to dry.” If you want something that gets through the heads and still covers boards on medium-to-heavy oil (especially longer patterns), the Power Hitter can make a lot of sense—just know it’s not the smooth, hangy benchmark look.
