About This Video

I just got home from a service call and found a mystery box on my front step—so I opened it up with you for a quick first look at the brand-new Grandstream GWN7660M. This is a plug-in Wi‑Fi 6 access point that’s designed to go straight into a wall outlet, and it can be used as a mesh point with compatible Grandstream gear like the GWN762E and the ET series routers. In this video I do a fast unboxing, show what’s in the box (quick start guide, regulatory info, and the AP), and we talk about the wall-plug adapter design and just how small this thing really is. After the unboxing, I pull up the spec sheet and run through the highlights: up to 3 Gbps aggregate wireless throughput, a 1 Gbps wired port, dual-band Wi‑Fi 6 radios (2.4 GHz 2x2 MIMO and 5 GHz multi-user MIMO), and support for up to 128 concurrent clients with an advertised 120-meter coverage range. I also point out features like advanced QoS and anti-hacking secure boot, plus built-in management options (embedded controller for up to 10 local APs, GDMS, and on-prem GWN Manager). The big takeaway is simple: it’s a compact, easy-to-install way to extend coverage and build a mesh—next up, I’ll actually pair it and mesh it with the GWN762E.
