About This Video

In this Saturday Afternoon LIVE, I kicked things off with a little “technical faux” (my encoder decided it didn’t want to talk to YouTube Studio), but we got it sorted and settled into our weekly chat. The big news: we officially hit 30,000 subscribers at 11:57 a.m. Eastern—after sitting at 29,999 just a few minutes earlier. I’m genuinely grateful for the support, and I shared my mindset on YouTube: I’m not trying to become famous or make millions—I’m here because I enjoy it, and because I like using my teaching background to take what I learn and turn around and help others. I also paid homage to the original “Tech Quartet” group livestream from 2020 (pandemic era), including the old promo trailer and why I wore the shirt on stream. From there, I gave a practical NAS/sync update: my Synology-to-UGREEN Syncthing two-way sync issue was, in fact, a permissions problem on the Synology side. Even though administrators had read/write, the user needed explicit folder privileges (including change permissions/take ownership) for it to finally show “Up to Date.” I wrapped with some Grandstream updates (NFC on iOS is being worked on with Apple) and a quick rundown of gear I listed on eBay to clear out the studio.
