About This Video

In this Saturday Afternoon LIVE, I hung out with the community for our weekly 12:15 chat and we picked the winner of my 30K Subscriber Giveaway (the Grandstream GWN7703 24‑port unmanaged switch). I also ran a poll that’s been on my mind lately: if you had to replace a rack UPS at home, would you stick with a traditional 1U/2U rackmount UPS or go with a portable power station like an EcoFlow? It was a good back-and-forth, and the votes were pretty split. I also shared a real-world update on my own UPS decision. I originally ordered an APC Smart‑UPS 1500VA rack unit, but after a weird Amazon “card declined” situation (and my bank saying they never even saw the charge), I canceled it and pivoted to an EcoFlow Delta 3 Classic instead—especially since I’ve got a whole-house generator and only need battery coverage for that short switchover window. On the homelab side, I showed a feature I think is genuinely handy: Proxmox VE 9’s mobile-friendly web interface. Being able to VPN in, check node status, and see resources from my phone is a nice quality-of-life upgrade when you’re managing a home cluster.
