Yes… you read that correctly! Believe it or not, we got not 1 but 2 snow days here in Texas with the recent winter storm that came through. Today is Wednesday and it’s our first day back after having an unexpected long weekend with Monday and Tuesday off so I’m dubbing today a “get back on track” day. I take you along with me as we adjust lesson plans for the week, set up the day’s science investigation, and process all the changes that have resulted from the days off. Come spend the day with me teaching 4th grade here in Texas after some snow days! __________________________________________________________________ 🎥 SUBSCRIBE TO POCKETFUL OF PRIMARY: https://www.youtube.com/pocketfulofprimary?sub_confirmation=1 VLOG PLAYLIST: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzMt-laLU9XwfKSOykTpRq2IGVustA-U8 🍎🛒 CLASSROOM 2025-2026 AMAZON LIST: https://amzn.to/3H8VQEw CHAPTERS: 0:00 Intro 0:34 Snow days recap 3:39 Shifting things around 6:53 Setting up the science investigation 9:55 Getting back on track with my to-dos 10:38 Science investigation recap 11:29 End of the day check in 14:51 Outro 🎥 SUNDAY RESET VLOG: https://youtu.be/GNoFx5m3NIQ 💻🎥 CREATING A UNIT OVERVIEW VIDEO: https://youtu.be/tbIhyqaXjSw 📝 FREE UNIT OVERVIEW TEMPLATE: https://www.pocketfulofprimary.com/unitoverviewtemplate 📝 FREE UNIT OVERVIEW ORGANIZER: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TOX9Ngr9eNk6Zn0UAMlN1L2Eddegb7z9LQgZVqGdClQ/template/preview __________________________________________________________________ 🍏 TEACHERSPAYTEACHERS STORE: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Pocketful-Of-Primary 📖🥇🍎 FIRST CLASS TEACHING BOOK: Amazon - https://amzn.to/4b8C3hp Audible - https://www.audible.com/pd/First-Class-Teaching-Audiobook/B0C3FQVJN2 Audiobooks - https://www.audiobooks.com/audiobook/first-class-teaching-10-lessons-you-dont-learn-in-college/673960 🛒 AMAZON FAVORITES: http://bit.ly/pocketfulofprimarystore 🍎🛒🖤 CLASSROOM AMAZON WISHLIST: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1JLJUE48YFDLO?ref_=wl_share 🍎 POCKETFUL OF PRIMARY MERCHANDISE: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PocketfulofPrimary?ref=search_shop_redirect __________________________________________________________________ Find me on my other social media platforms: INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/pocketfulofprimary FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/PocketfulofPrimary/ PINTEREST: https://www.pinterest.com/pocketfulofprim/ PODCAST: https://teachingonthedouble.com/podcasts/ WEBSITE: www.pocketfulofprimary.com For business inquiries, please contact: pocketfulofprimary@gmail.com __________________________________________________________________ *My description includes referral codes/links that allow me to earn points or credit that can be redeemed for products and/or subscriptions. About This Video

Yes… you read that correctly: we got snow days in Texas. In this vlog, I’m taking you along for our first day back after an unexpected long weekend (Monday and Tuesday off), and I’m calling it a full-on “get back on track” day. I share a quick recap of the storm and then jump straight into the real teacher work that happens when the calendar gets thrown off—shifting plans, adjusting pacing, and figuring out what has to move (and what can wait). You’ll see me update lesson plans for the week, set up our science investigation, and work through my to-do list so the day feels manageable instead of chaotic. I also check in after the investigation to share how it went and what I’m changing for next time, because that reflection piece is what keeps my systems simple and sustainable. If you’re coming off of snow days (or any unexpected days off), this is a realistic look at how I reset my classroom routines and get my 4th graders—and myself—back into a groove.
