This is a REALISTIC and HONEST day in the life of a 4th grade teacher! We’ve made it to another Friday and today is mostly dedicated to getting all of my math plans mapped out between the end of February and our big STAAR test in April. I’m sitting down with my calendar and coming up with a plan for how to fit in all of our curriculum lessons with enough time to review before the test. I wrap up the day with moving desks in my classroom and creating a new seating chart for my students so we have a fresh start next week. I also share updates since my last vlog including the yarn ball, sharpened pencils bin, and more! Come teach fourth grade with me on a hectic but productive Friday! __________________________________________________________________ 🎥 SUBSCRIBE TO POCKETFUL OF PRIMARY: https://www.youtube.com/pocketfulofprimary?sub_confirmation=1 VLOG PLAYLIST: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzMt-laLU9XwfKSOykTpRq2IGVustA-U8 🍎🛒 CLASSROOM 2025-2026 AMAZON LIST: https://amzn.to/3H8VQEw CHAPTERS: 0:00 Intro 0:58 Yarn ball update 2:25 Valentine’s Day leftovers 2:48 Estimation jar 3:32 Pencil organization update 4:34 Student jobs 6:39 Science lesson on rocks and geodes 11:43 Math lesson on adding mixed numbers 14:30 Schedule and social studies 13:32 Things to get done today 21:11 Mapping out math plans until the STAAR test 25:50 New desk arrangement & seating chart 27:00 Today was a disaster 29:55 Outro 🎥 LAST VLOG: https://youtu.be/3sqOd7OUoJs 🎉 FRIYAY SWEATSHIRT: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1813838705/friyay-teacher-sweatshirt-school-teacher 🧶 OMBRE RAINBOW YARN: https://amzn.to/4qOG2rk 🧶 YARN BALL BLOG POST: https://makemomentsmatter.org/classroom-ideas/diy-yarn-ball-the-perfect-classroom-tool/ 🤔 ESTIMATION 180 WEBSITE: https://estimation180.com/days/ ✏️ PENCIL ORGANIZER: https://amzn.to/4tUjEQb 🪨 GEODES KIT: https://amzn.to/4rtKb5h 🪨🎥 GEODES VLOG FROM LAST YEAR: https://youtu.be/VIBRM3_ffnY 🪨🎥 GEODES SCI SHOW KIDS VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V72ydSohpMg __________________________________________________________________ 🍏 TEACHERSPAYTEACHERS STORE: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Pocketful-Of-Primary 📖🥇🍎 FIRST CLASS TEACHING BOOK: Amazon - https://amzn.to/4b8C3hp Audible - https://www.audible.com/pd/First-Class-Teaching-Audiobook/B0C3FQVJN2 Audiobooks - https://www.audiobooks.com/audiobook/first-class-teaching-10-lessons-you-dont-learn-in-college/673960 🛒 AMAZON FAVORITES: http://bit.ly/pocketfulofprimarystore 🍎🛒🖤 CLASSROOM AMAZON WISHLIST: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1JLJUE48YFDLO?ref_=wl_share 🍎 POCKETFUL OF PRIMARY MERCHANDISE: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PocketfulofPrimary?ref=search_shop_redirect __________________________________________________________________ Find me on my other social media platforms: INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/pocketfulofprimary FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/PocketfulofPrimary/ PINTEREST: https://www.pinterest.com/pocketfulofprim/ PODCAST: https://teachingonthedouble.com/podcasts/ WEBSITE: www.pocketfulofprimary.com For business inquiries, please contact: pocketfulofprimary@gmail.com __________________________________________________________________ *My description includes referral codes/links that allow me to earn points or credit that can be redeemed for products and/or subscriptions. About This Video

Come teach with me on a Friday in my 4th grade classroom—realistic, honest, and a little hectic, but super productive. I’m sharing quick classroom updates like how the yarn ball is going, what’s left from Valentine’s Day, and how I’m keeping things simple with our estimation jar. I also show a few little systems that make a big difference for me (like my sharpened pencils setup and student jobs) because if I can make the day feel lighter, I’m doing it. We jump into our learning too: science with rocks and geodes (always a favorite) and a math lesson on adding mixed numbers. The biggest focus of the day is me sitting down with my calendar to map out math plans from the end of February all the way to our STAAR test in April—making sure I can fit curriculum lessons in while still leaving time to review. I wrap everything up by moving desks, making a brand new seating chart, and trying to reset the room for a fresh start next week… even though, yes, I also admit that parts of today felt like a disaster.
