I headed out early to the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge for a bird-in-flight morning with the OM SYSTEM OM-1 Mark II and the OM 150-600mm. This was the first time this Sandhill Season that I finally got some good light, and I’ll take it when I can get it. The window was short—maybe 30 to 45 minutes—but it was enough to get a solid batch of crane images I was genuinely happy with. In this video I’m focused on real-world BIF shooting: tracking Sandhill Cranes as they move, dealing with changing angles and backgrounds, and making the most of that brief “good light” stretch before it’s gone. I’m out there actually using the gear in the field, not just talking about specs, and that’s the whole point—seeing what the OM-1 Mark II and 150-600 can do when the birds are flying and the conditions are moving fast.
