My first Photo Shoot with my new used Canon EOS R5 Mark II. I went to two birding locations around Chattanooga, TN, and used the 100-500mm and 800mm f/11 Canon lenses. I had a nice morning of it. I hope you enjoy the pictures. About This Video

This one was my first real photo shoot with my new (used) Canon EOS R5 Mark II, and I took it straight to what I care about most—birds and wildlife. I hit two birding spots around Chattanooga, Tennessee, and spent the morning swapping between the RF 100-500mm and the RF 800mm f/11 to see how the setup feels in the field. It wasn’t a lab test—just real shooting, real situations, and the kind of conditions we actually deal with when we’re trying to come home with keepers. A big part of this video is how I like to work: get out early, move locations if I need to, and let the birds dictate the pace. The 100-500 is my flexible “do-it-all” wildlife lens when things get close or change fast, and the 800mm f/11 is what I grab when I need reach without hauling a giant super-tele. I also talk through a few practical gear choices that make life easier—like using a smaller hood on the 100-500 to save space, and a replacement collar option. If you’re curious what a morning of bird photography looks like with the R5 Mark II and these two lenses, this is exactly that—plus the photos I came home with.
