About This Video

In this easy, step-by-step watercolor tutorial, I’m painting two simple little bumblebees in real time so you can follow along without feeling rushed. I walk you through the full process—from the first light shapes to the darker details—using a few beginner-friendly techniques that make bees look soft, rounded, and still nice and loose. If you’re new to watercolor (or you just want something relaxing to paint), this is a great one to pop on and paint with me. We’ll build up those warm yellows first and then layer in the darker stripes once things are dry, so you get clean contrast without muddying your colors. I also share a few important beginner reminders along the way (like taking it one step at a time and letting layers dry), and I show two slightly different bees so you can see how small changes in shape and detail can create variety. I’m using my favorite cotton paper, a size 5 round brush, and a simple palette—so you can keep your supplies minimal and still get a finished painting you’re proud of.
