About This Video

It’s been a minute since I’ve made a YouTube video, so to get back into it I gave myself one rule: declutter the absolute mountain of PC parts I’ve collected over the last couple years. I pulled everything out of the closet and the basement dungeon, built a spreadsheet (yes, with color coding and drop-downs), and figured out what I could keep, sell, or donate. The funny part is the spread of what I had—everything from a dusty GT 1030 to an RTX 5090 sitting in the box… which is kind of unhinged for a “budget reviewer guy,” I know. After selling off a few already-built machines, I ended up with around $530 to plug the gaps in the builds I actually wanted to finish. From there, I turned leftover parts into four complete PCs—some solid, some weird, but all real computers. The lineup ranged from a “boring but strong” RTX 3070 + Ryzen 5600 rig that only needed about $80 to finish, to a tiny Ryzen 5 8600G Pico-PSU build that’s more about portability than raw FPS. My favorite was the unassuming 1080p RX 6600 + Ryzen 5 5500 build (even if the 850W PSU is absurd overkill). And then there’s the oddball: an Athlon 860K + RX 580 machine that cost me about $13 to get running—perfectly usable for older games, but I genuinely want your ideas on what to do with it next (Linux, project PC, whatever).
