About This Video

For the price of a regular PS5, I put together a super cozy, calming ~$500 gaming PC that can play basically anything at 1080p, is easy to build, and stays very upgradeable. I walk through the exact parts I picked and why: a Ryzen 5 3600 (the gift that keeps on giving), 16GB DDR4, a 1TB NVMe SSD (because storage is peace), a B550 board with Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth, and the value king RX 6600. The goal here is a comfortable gaming experience—good airflow, simple parts, and no weird compromises. Then I build it step-by-step: RAM and SSD first, CPU and cooler (I show the stock Wraith Stealth option, but I recommend the Thermalright Assassin because it’s miles better), case prep, motherboard install, fan layout (intake front, exhaust top), PSU orientation, GPU install, and a quick power test. After it posts, I cover the three post-build essentials: enable XMP in BIOS, install Windows 11 (yes, unactivated is fine), and install all your drivers. Finally, I test a bunch of games so you know what you’re getting: Apex around 160 FPS, Helldivers 2 staying above 60 on high, Hogwarts Legacy ~59 FPS high native, Cyberpunk ~90 FPS high with quality FSR, and even Alan Wake 2 being playable with FSR. If you want a calm, affordable, and genuinely solid 1080p rig, this is it.
