About This Video

I’ve wondered for a long time who actually makes the best lighted nock for bowhunting, so in this video I put four popular options head-to-head: the OG Lumenok, Nockturnal, Halo, and the budget DeePower. I break them down the way I care about them for public land hunting—price, design, how annoying they are to live with, how bright they are, and whether they change point of impact at 50 yards. I ran a brightness comparison and then shot groups at 50 with a standard nock control group to see what the lighted nocks did. The DeePowers were hilariously the brightest (and they’re the cheapest), while Lumenok came in dimmest and also gave me the most trouble—hard to turn off and I literally snapped one during uninstall. On the accuracy side, every lighted nock dropped a little compared to standard nocks because you’re adding weight, but the Halo nocks had the least POI shift and the best on/off design for hunting. Bottom line: the best balance of low POI shift, decent brightness, and ease of use for me was Halo, so that’s what I’m hunting with this year.
