It’s an angle-compensated unit with HCD (horizontal component distance) and LOS (line of sight), and that matters a ton when you’re shooting out of a tree or in steep country. I cover real-world ranging expectations too: Vortex rates it to 2,000 yards on reflective steel, but you’re more like ~1,800 on trees/softer targets and around ~1,400 on deer hide. That’s still way farther than I’m ever going to need on a whitetail, but I like the insurance policy.
