About This Video

Gentlemen, this one’s a little different than what I usually put out. I’m out here slinging arrows with my recurve and laying out what deer season is going to look like for me—where I’m hunting, what weapons I’m bringing, and how I’m planning to make time for it all. The bow is a super basic PSE Nighthawk shooting off the shelf—no rest, no sight—and I’m leaning hard into instinctive shooting because, honestly, it feels pretty instinctive so far. I also break down the arrows I’m messing with right now, including Easton Carbon Legacys (340 spine with a 150-grain field point because I plan on running 150 broadheads) and a random set that actually flies straighter for me at the moment—probably because I spined the Legacys a little stiff. On the season-planning side, I’m scouting public land close to home, focusing on big temperature drops, and hunting that bedding-to-food transition in the evenings. November is stacked: rut-cation camping on public with the boys, pheasant season with my bird dog Maple, and rifle seasons in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio—plus a revolver attempt in straight-wall Ohio and maybe muzzleloader later if I still need meat in the freezer. And yeah… there’s a recurve side-quest in here too, if I can lock it in and keep shots tight.
