This vintage rifle was restored in Part 1, and now we’re testing its capability to bring down a deer in 2025. The results are impressive – despite its age, this lever-action prints tight groups at typical deer-hunting range, proving that old guns can still shoot straight. 🔴 Subscribe to Outdoor Tactics: https://www.youtube.com/@Outdoor-Tactics?sub_confirmation=1 Part 1 Below: https://youtu.be/4316B035SJc Watch Next: https://youtu.be/usB-h22X3BY https://youtu.be/ocmC-l-J278 https://youtu.be/NEvgk5x-2mg https://youtu.be/GXvDr1r_cCM Gear I Use to Film This Video Camera: https://amzn.to/41QqBWw Lens: https://amzn.to/4iODXIT Mic: https://amzn.to/3QVGhBt Lapel: https://amzn.to/3Ru8VtC Explore My Playlists: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXhY1s1KeA11n96N08lBnQsPjiDzdL1qp https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXhY1s1KeA10LNDz-ll_O5AaWHkq7nK_e https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXhY1s1KeA10icFSwY8YLBnFT5L2qT9Uh https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXhY1s1KeA13oaNCH7M1GyNTGeCJwnoI5 Timestamps: 0:00 - Intro 1:04 - Shooting Test 2:57 - Thoughts 3:48 - Pros 5:53 - Cons Thank you for watching Business Inquiries: ytoutdoortactics@gmail.com #Winchester94 #DeerHunting #BrushGun #HuntingRifle

About This Video

This rifle was built 110 years ago—a Winchester Model 94 in .30-30—and this is part two of my “one last hunt” series. In part one I refurbished it and brought it back to life without deleting the old battle scars. In this video, I’m doing the real question: is it actually ready to hunt the 2025 deer season? I put it on the bench at 50 yards with iron sights (a really nice rear peep), shot groups, made a simple rear-sight adjustment, and then confirmed it would stack shots where it needs to for the way I hunt. The results honestly surprised me—in a good way. After a small adjustment, it printed tight groups for a peep-sight lever gun at typical public land whitetail distance. I also break down the real-world pros and cons of running a vintage lever action in thick Appalachian woods: it’s thin, light, balances well, cycles fast, and doesn’t have much to go wrong when you’re far from home. On the flip side, you give up magnification for judging deer (especially with antler restrictions), and .30-30 isn’t exactly a speed demon compared to stuff like .308. Bottom line: if your shots live inside 100 yards (like mine often do in West Virginia), this old Winchester can absolutely still hunt.
