About This Video

In this quick PC update, I’m showing the upgrades I’ve just done: a new MSI B560M PRO-E motherboard and an EVGA 500W power supply. The PSU was a birthday gift from a mate (cheers for that), and the board was a Black Friday grab for about £65. I originally had a motherboard that was honestly awful, so swapping it out was a no-brainer—this one’s basic, not fancy, but it’s got what I need and even an M.2 slot for later. I jump into the BIOS to show it’s all working properly with my i5-11400 and 16GB of RAM (and no, I’m not going 32GB because I don’t need it). I also show the inside of the case, including the cable management struggle—loads of spare SATA power cables I don’t need, so it’s a bit of a wire jungle. Cooling-wise I’m running an Arctic Alpine 12 LP, plus Arctic fans, and I’ve got MX-4 paste on the way because I need to repaste after moving things over. Right now I’m on an RX 550 because my old PSU couldn’t handle PCIe power, but with this 500W 80+ Bronze EVGA unit I’m planning to grab an RX 580 next for a bit more gaming performance as I move from PS4 to PC.
