In this video, I explore the Galaxy S23 a year after its release, and compare it to the newer S24, whilst also comparing it with the Galaxy A52s: a mid-range device from 2021. I felt the latter comparison might help with guiding people who may also use lower-end Samsung devices who may be interested in picking up an S-series model instead. Apologies - during the camera section I said that 8K@30FPS allows for all lenses to be used. To correct my mistake, only the 1x 50MP lens can be used in 8K mode. I hope this video is helpful to you - if so, feel free to like and/or subscribe :) ____________________ Social Media: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oliverstechcorner/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/otechcorner Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/user/imrolii/ ____________________ Chapters: 0:00 Introduction 1:20 Unboxing 2:30 Performance 3:10 Battery 4:15 Display 5:00 Camera 6:10 Audio 7:30 Vibration 8:55 Calls 9:55 Conclusion ____________________ Music Attribution: baegel - Your Eyes Are My Sanctuary: https://www.epidemicsound.com/track/VJ26ruvX0J/ ------ baegel - Underwater Levels: https://www.epidemicsound.com/track/sZpxeKnqmu/ ------ Rymdklang Soundtracks - Starting Something New: https://www.epidemicsound.com/track/pZCQSKcwy1/ ------ Rikard From - Busted by the Blues: https://www.epidemicsound.com/track/a39Jf63Ie0/ ------ All music in this video is property of the original creators as outlined above. ____________________ Cameras Used: Primary - Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G Review Footage - Samsung Galaxy S23 Comparisons - Apple iPhone SE (1st Generation) In the left corner of each clip, I have left a watermark of the camera used to take that specific shot, just in case you're interested. About This Video

In this video I take a proper look at the Galaxy S23 in 2024 and whether it’s actually worth grabbing over the newer S24. I bought the S23 after my Galaxy A52s 5G started falling apart and getting slow over time (classic A-series behaviour), and I wanted something that would last me years. I also talk through my short detour with older phones like my Sony Xperia XZ1 on a custom ROM and an iPhone SE 2020, which was cheap but just too small with a pretty grim battery. I go over what it’s like to live with the S23 day-to-day: the 6.1-inch size is a sweet spot for my hands, the screen looks brilliant with tiny bezels and gets seriously bright, and One UI 6 feels smooth as butter on a flagship compared to the A52s. Performance is fluid, apps load fast, and I actually turned off RAM Plus because it felt better for how I use my phone. Battery life surprised me too—I can usually get to the end of the day with 120Hz adaptive on, and 25W charging is quick enough for a top-up. I also cover the cameras (without making it the whole video), speakers, mic quality, stereo audio recording, vibration motor, and even call quality. My overall takeaway: for global-model buyers especially, the S23 is still a really solid pick, and the S24 doesn’t feel like a massive jump.
