About This Video

In this video I walk through my Wolfbox G900 Pro install on my GX470 and why I wanted this style of mirror dash cam in the first place. With my rear bumper and a big spare hanging off the back, my factory rearview is basically useless. What I like about the G900 Pro is it’s always showing what’s behind you (not just when you’re in reverse), so merging and backing up is way easier—and I don’t have to wait on my slow aftermarket head unit/backup cam to boot up. I show the simple “12V plug-in” route if you don’t want to hardwire, but I personally hardwire it so it only turns on with ignition. I tap ACC and battery/ground at the fuse panel (left of the steering wheel), talk about amperage (it’s around 2.5A), and I show the part most videos skip—actually crimping and setting up the fuse tap. From there I route wiring cleanly behind trim and around airbags (don’t just stuff it wherever), then run the rear camera cable to the hatch. After a few days of use, I run through settings like display modes (front/rear/split), loop recording (I set mine to 3 minutes), brightness/exposure, and why I keep audio recording off. I also show how I tied into the reverse light trigger so it goes full-screen when you shift into reverse—and I’m real about what parts were “not worth it” when routing through the hatch grommet.
