About This Video

In this video I’m doing an 8,000–9,000 mile update on the Dirt King 2.5 full suspension kit on my 2018 Tundra Double Cab. I’m running a 2.5–3" lift, 35s, and a pretty decent offset, and this truck is my daily—so it’s seen everything: city driving, highway, and a lot of off-road. I also did a long run out to Expo West in Flagstaff from Denver (plus plenty of miles through places like Escalante), and the suspension has been solid through all of it. I went with the Dirt King 2.5 over the 2.0 specifically for the remote reservoirs and the overall off-road performance. Dirt King’s been making suspension components for about 20 years, and I took the “risk” on this newer suspension release because I already trusted their upper control arms—and mine have held up exactly like everyone said they would. Compared to other setups I’ve run (Icon, Bilstein, and more budget options), this is hands-down the best suspension I’ve had. It costs more—maybe ~20%—but the performance jump feels way bigger, and it’s also given me the clearance and ride quality I wanted to comfortably run 35s with no drama after a body mount chop and some minor plastic/heat gun work.
