Achieving Your 2025 Health Goals - Tami Kramer shares her thoughts from the Nutmeg Notebook Whole Food Plant-Based Kitchen Companion Video - Eat Your Way to WELLNESS with a WFPB Lifestyle! https://youtu.be/TUJt9U_1Vz4 ------------------------------------------------- A year from now, you’ll wish you had started today. As we kick off 2025, think about your health goals. What’s one thing you’d like to improve? Whether it’s physical strength, mental clarity, or simply feeling better overall, eating healthier, success comes from small, consistent habit changes that become part of your lifestyle. Maybe you want to: 🌱 Walk for 30 minutes every morning. 🌱 Add more whole, plant-based foods to your meals. 🌱 Find a local class or community group to stay active. 🌱 Start with 10 extra steps a day or a gentle chair yoga video. It doesn’t have to be perfect—it just needs to be intentional. Set yourself up for success by planning ahead. For instance, if you want to walk in the mornings, lay out your clothes the night before. Or if cooking healthier meals is your goal, batch prep ingredients in advance so it feels easy to eat healthy. When I first began my daily walks I started with 20 minutes walking outside with a route that had very little elevation. It was challenging at first. After a couple weeks it was easier and I increased it to 30 minutes. I kept increasing the time until I achieved 1 hour. When that got easier I increased the pace of my walk and I was able to cover more distance and add more elevation in that 1 hour. When we get stronger physically we also feel stronger mentally. Exercise helps with anxiety, depression and stress. If you can walk outside it can be an even greater experience connecting with nature. If it’s too cold outside right now check your local mall and see if they open the doors early before the stores open so people can walk inside. Our mall does this and on cold rainy windy days we take advantage of it. If it’s a light gentle rain we just put on a raincoat and waterproof shoes and embrace the elements. ☔️ We never regret exercising and always feel better afterwards. After exercising first thing in the morning we have set up our day for success and want to make healthy eating choices to go along with our healthy movement. If your ability to move is compromised look at what you can do. Can you increase the steps you are getting in - get a pedometer and take 10 extra steps a day and build on that. Find a chair yoga video to follow. Get some 2 pound hand weights or an exercise band and start there. Look on YouTube for easy exercise videos that fit where you are at right now to get you started. Check your local YMCA for cost effective programs or the local community center. You might be amazed at what you find. Water aerobics is gentle on the knees and a great workout. Six months ago we started taking Pilates reformer classes twice a week. We absolutely love it! We are feeling confident and physically stronger and now in January we are increasing it to 3 times a week as well as adding some balance classes. It’s amazing what a difference it’s making. We started with the very basic beginners class and have been able to move up a level. Slow and steady. We are still walking on our non Pilates class days to be sure and get movement in every day. 🌱 What is one habit you can start today that will help you achieve your 2025 goals? Share your plan in the comments! Let’s inspire each other to take that first step toward a healthier, stronger, and happier year. Remember, small steps lead to big results—and you’ll never regret showing up for yourself!
