About This Video

Good morning, friends—this one is a cozy little catch-up vlog, Nova Scotia style. I start the day out at the bus stop with the dogs (the whole crew), then I’m right into regular life stuff: compost, dishes, and trying to get out the door. We had plans to meet my sister Carrie at the beach, but of course the truck battery was dead because we hadn’t started it in forever. So we bundled up, tossed blankets in the car, and still made it—because if you can get a beach day in January, you take it. It was cold (around minus 3), but the dogs had their jackets and their new Christmas bells from Carrie, and they just needed to run. We chatted, did treats, and soaked up that quiet winter beach feeling. Back home, I made what I call “TV dinners”—pork chops, potatoes, and corn—loaded the plates, wrapped them up, and popped them in the fridge so the kids could just microwave supper when they got in. I also shared a funny little memory moment: Carrie found old VHS skating carnival footage from when I was a kid, and it sent me down an “analog horror” rabbit hole. We finish up with family life again—Maize’s hockey game, a warm fire, and my usual reminder: peace, love, and happiness.
