Today we’re in “Hawaii,” Georgia (yep, it’s a real spot), and we’re chasing down one of North Georgia’s best little secrets: Sorrels Branch Falls. There’s no official trailhead, no signs, and no markers—just what we found in the Waterfalls of Georgia book and a little bit of old-school scanning for the right “depressions” in the ground. We show exactly where we parked and what to look for: a culvert under the road (with that white/orange pipe), and the faint game-trail-looking path basically directly across the street from the waterfall. Once we’re on the unmarked route, we talk through what it’s really like—light bushwhacking, a couple sketchy spots, deadfall, and a trail that isn’t heavily trafficked (so watch your step, your face, and keep an eye out for snakes and spiders). The payoff is worth it: the main drop is about 50 feet, the upper portion is around 25 feet, and there’s a really cool old stone structure sitting right there by the falls.
