I don’t normally do unplanned videos, but after the Stranger Things Season 5 finale hit, our town showed up in a big way. I ran down to Jackson, Georgia—aka the real-life Hawkins—because the community put together a memorial-style tribute for Eleven. There were murals, handmade signs, candles, and that heavy “end of an era” feeling all over the square. If you’ve ever wondered what Hawkins looks like in real life, this is literally the town I’m from, so I wanted to show it exactly as it was happening. In this walkthrough, I point out a bunch of the real filming spots: the courthouse, the gathering area, the “hole in the wall” where the Demogorgon/Vecna breaks through, the theater area, and the alleyway fight scene (I’ve been down there already, so I didn’t want to block other people’s pictures). I also show off the local store that’s basically a must-stop if you visit—packed with Stranger Things stuff and tours. Bottom line: if you live close by, it’s worth the trip, and if you’re far away, this is your chance to see how our little town said goodbye.
