About This Video

Hello everyone, this is Nicholas, and in this video I reviewed the ASUS VivoWatch SP and broke down what you’re actually getting if you want a health-focused smartwatch. I started with the display—a high-reflective color LCD with a respectable number of preset watch faces. The downside is they’re not customizable and you can’t download new ones, so what you see is basically what you get. For battery, it’s running Bluetooth 4.2 and I covered the claimed endurance: up to 10 days on typical usage, and up to 14 days on power saving mode. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters, so splashes and shallow pools are fine, but I wouldn’t recommend it for diving. I also talked about call and text notifications, where you get visual plus vibration alerts without pulling out your phone. Feature-wise, there’s a lot to unpack: ECG and PPG sensors for Pulse Transit Time (PTT), heart rate tracking (continuous or manual), sleep tracking, stress insights (vitality and body harmony indexes), SpO2, built-in GPS, and an altimeter for hiking. I also pointed out my main complaints: the rubber strap comfort, a weak vibration motor, and especially the micro-USB clip-on charging method—which was a hassle for me. Overall, if you’re a health freak who wants to track tons of data, this watch makes sense.
